Maisa was doing his ‘routine check’ when he discovered the explosive, enclosed in a cellophane inside the bus, was composed of one half kilo of TNT, a blasting cap, and unknown substances, said senior police officer 3 Wilfredo Pelare, member of Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit (EOD).

“Wala gyud ko mahadlok, kay ang akong gihunahuna mao man ang mga tawo sa terminal mao to nga akong gikuha og gibutang sa daplin nga layo sa mga tawo,” Maisa said.
After placing the bomb five meters away from the bus, he then reported to the 1005th PNP mobile group stationed in IBJT.

Misa’s heroic act has caught the gratification of the passengers, conductors, drivers, vendors and even the media putting his life in danger just to save many lives in the area.

With the unknown chemicals, if detonated inside the bus, would have resulted in a “strong” explosion and maybe killed hundreds of people, Pelare said.
“Amo na lang gipabuto, layo sa mga tawo kay lisod man nga dalhon pa sa layo basin mabuthan ta kay dili nato maseguro,” Pelare added.
