THE Roman Catholic Archbishop of Ozamiz Most Rev. Jesus A. Dosado, CM has appointed Rev. Fr. Maximino “Boy” A. Naron Jr., canon lawyer and chancellor, as his new vicar general for this local church.
Msgr. Naron, 50, succeeds the late Msgr. Emie Bienes, 63, who recently died due to liver cancer. Msgr. Bienes had been the vicar for Ozamiz since September 1992.
Msgr. Maximino “Boy” Naron was born in December 19, 1959, in Pangabuan, Tangub City.
He was ordained priest in April 19, 1985. He studied at the Faculty of Canon Law to specialized in canon law; Licentiate of Philosophy faculty and Batchelor of Sacred Theology in the University of Sto. Thomas, Manila.
After his priestly ordination he was appointed as assistant parish priest of the late Msgr. Helarion Caralos in Immaculate Conception Cathedral Parish for four months. In 1987 he was appointed as assistant parish priest of the late Msgr. Emie Bienes in Oroquieta City.
He was named chancellor in 2007, and then appointed as the new vicar general after the clergy meeting on Wednesday, December 9 at St. Vincent Parish, Bonifacio town.
