MNHS holds yearly sportsfest

MONTOL National High School (MNHS) holds its yearly sportsfest filled of activity which struggles display and showcase their hidden potentials and athletic prowess in spirits activities.

Dubbed as ‘Intramurals 2009’, the sportsfest is a school activity that aims to instill the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship among the students.

Pat S. Rara, school principal said that the real essence of this undertaking is how one shows the spirit of cooperation, camaraderie and the culture of peace through sports moreover graciousness to accept defeat is tested here and how one takes it, reveals the essence of sportsmanship.

Rara hopes that the 2 – day sportsfest will bring closer ties among students, strengthen the friendship, bring joys and laughter and above all hone their potential and athletic prowess in sports.

Aside from sports activities, dancing skills and physical attributes of the students are show through the much awaited cheer dance competition and Mister and Miss Sport fest 2009.

In line with sportsfest, MNHS also pays tribute the top 10 honor students for the second grading period on its 2nd quarter convocation program where they received certificates of recognition.

The affair was attended by the parents who personally get the report rating card of their children.

Misamis Occidental governor Francisco Paylaga, Jr., and 2nd district Board member Roland Romero graced the occasion.

Paylaga inspires the students to continue burning he candle by striving hard to realize and reach out their dreams. BM Romero gives inspiration to the athletes as he bestows his message.

The event also dubbed as ‘2 in 1 affair’ asked assistance for the newly erected PTA initiated classroom building which remains uncovered with roof and walls with no sufficient funding from the PTA.They hoped that through the joint efforts of the parents and teachers of MNHS with the assistance of the Local Government Units (LGU’s) and Non-government Organizations (NGO’s), the newly constructed classroom building will soon be completed.
